Warranty Customer Service Representative

Opportunity

Kai USA Ltd., manufacturer of Kershaw Knives and Zero Tolerance Knives in Tualatin, has an immediate opening for a Warranty Customer Service Representative.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties: 

The Warranty Customer Service Representative handles customer warranty and/or sharpening requests for Kershaw Knives, Zero Tolerance Knives, Shun Cutlery and Kai Housewares products.

Specific tasks include:

  • Providing customer satisfaction through effective interactions

  • Answering and processing inbound calls

  • Demonstrating positive and cooperative behavior with customers and co-workers

  • Meeting productivity, quality, and punctuality standards

     

  • Responding to warranty claims assigned via mail, phone, email, or via walk-in-customer claims

  • Diagnosing and inspecting failed parts to verify the defect and identifying the root of the problem

  • Verifying that the parts and labor are appropriate for the repair

  • Performing daily quality-control evaluations

  • Opening shipments and recording contents of packaging, then preparing packaging contents for office-staff processing

  • Packaging and labeling component parts for shipping

The qualified candidate must:

  • Have 1-2 years of exceptional customer service experience
  • Have strong knowledge of the Microsoft Windows environment and Microsoft Office applications
  • Have the ability to type with speed and accuracy
  • Have experience using a mainframe computer in order to review and/or enter data

The successful applicant will:

  • Have effective organizational and prioritization skills for managing their work load
  • Be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal communication skills whether dealing with internal or external customers
  • Be able to communicate well in both verbal and written forms
  • Have basic math skills:  the ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s; and to perform these operations using units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • Have the ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions; and to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Be able to work varied shifts during the week

Hours: Swing Shift: Monday-Thursday, 4:30 pm to 3:00 am

Wages: $16.50/hour, plus $2.50 for Swing Shift differential
